Steel Magnolias rejoice! Master medi-clinical aesthetician Stephanie McChesney will be opening a new location in Charleston this spring and sharing her beauty secrets with Lowcountry clients. A leader in the clinical skin care industry, her beauty roots run deep. The youngest of four daughters, she spent her childhood soaking in the makeup routines of her older sisters, who affectionately called their home “the house of beauty.” She recalls being mesmerized by her cousin, a hairdresser living in New York City, who counted Lucille Ball and Diana Ross as clients. It was only a matter of time before her own contribution to the industry would blossom.
McChesney began her career in Charleston over 25 years ago, working as an aesthetician in plastic surgery offices. It was here, performing pre- and postoperative procedures, that she first realized her calling. Day after day, she would see women who didn’t need it opt for invasive surgery. She knew there was a better way.
Committed to finding a noninvasive alternative to cosmetic surgery, McChesney set her sights beyond South Carolina to learn from the world’s leading experts. She landed in Miami, where she worked at The Fisher Island Spa and then became the head aesthetician at one of the top destination spas in the world—the Doral Saturnia Terme Di Saturnia. During her time in Miami, her career thrived as she acquired everyone from A-list celebrities to international dignitaries as clientele. McChesney immersed herself in studying the science behind the world’s top skin care products. She says, “The more I learned, the more I realized there are too many ineffective products out there and that people are misinformed about what’s most beneficial for their skin.”
Extensive research led her to develop Science Ceuticals, a line of products that offers the highest standard of age-defying and corrective properties available. It also aroused her passion to educate women on healthy and holistic skin care treatments.
McChesney’s approach begins with educating clients on high active ingredients and the science behind treatment at the cellular level. This proven science has led physicians like Dr. Lesle Long, of MDVIP Greenville, to refer patients to McChesney for treatment. “I know she provides excellent treatment for different skin types as well as for postsurgical issues,” says Dr. Long. A client herself, Dr. Long credits McChesney for keeping her own skin luminous and youthful. Another client, Meredith Noon, says: “Stephanie is highly skilled, gentle and professional. Watch your wrinkles disappear without surgery or injections as your stress melts away!”
McChesney says avoiding surgery is possible and easy: “Once I get clients on my high-peptide concentrated Science Ceuticals and other active ingredients for their skin, they see results right away.” When she talks about treatment and education, her passion is evident: “Many people have been misled. No one has advised them about what’s needed in their products to have perfect skin!”
Today, McChesney makes her home in Greenville, South Carolina, where her practice is located. She takes clients by private, exclusive referral only and is considered the best-kept secret among those concerned about their skin. When asked about results, she’s excited. “It’s certainly rewarding to see not only the amazing improvement to a client’s skin but also how the results enhance an individual’s self-confidence,” she says. “I’m focused on the entire well-being of my clients and want to make sure they love what they see in the mirror every day!”
